How can I share recipes using a QR code?

Your Apicbase library contains all the information on your recipes. Using a QR code, you can share this very easily with colleagues, partners, customers... This article shows you how.

  • Click on "Products">"Recipes" and click on the recipe you want to share.
  • Click Share at the top of the recipe page and select QR code.

    You need the Edit permission for recipes in your library role to see QR code. Outlet users cannot share recipes: their Share menu only shows Comments.

  • The QR-code will appear in a pop-up.

  • Click on the "Settings" button below to choose what you want to be visible on the recipe page. 
  • You can share as much information you want on your recipe by checking the right boxes.

    Two settings control remarks. Show Ingredient Remarks shows each ingredient's remark in brackets after its name. Show Recipe Remarks adds the recipe's remarks below the steps. Both stay off until you tick them, and Show Ingredient Remarks only works when Show Ingredients is ticked too. These two settings exist for recipes only.

    Did you share the recipe some time ago? Settings that were added later, such as the remarks, Show Composition, Show Dietary Information and Show Total Calories, then appear unticked and stay hidden on the shared page. Tick the ones you want and click Save Settings.

    Custom fields you created yourself are shown on the shared recipe page; fields created by Apicbase are not.

  • Click on "Save settings" and the selected info will be shown when someone scans the QR code.
  • You can also just click on  and paste the image in an email, on your website, social media, or wherever you want. 
  • You can also just click on 'download' button to download the QR Code.

The QR code only works while its link exists. If you delete the link, every printed QR code for this recipe stops working. Sharing the recipe again creates a new QR code and puts the settings back to the defaults.

  • If you scan the code, you will see this page. If you click on actions, you can print the page.

idea Tip: If you change the number of servings in your recipe, the needed ingredient quantities will also change in the QR version of the recipe.
