In order to calculate the full cost of your recipes, you can add production time and production costs to your recipes. This article shows you how.
In order to calculate the production costs, you first have to fill in the salaries for the staff preparing the dishes. Apicbase allows you to add three types of salaries:
- Prepping Salary
- Cooking Salary
- Plating Salary
If you want to set these salaries, click on the settings wheel in the upper right corner and select library settings.
Go to the "Costing Defaults" tab. There you can enter the Production Cost Defaults.
Once you have set the salaries, you can start entering the production time per recipe. Go to the recipe you want to add the production time to and go to edit mode.Select the "Production" tab and there you can fill in the different kinds of production times.
The three production times above the line are linked to the salaries and will be used to calculate production costs. This is the time that staff is actively preparing the recipe.
The passive prepping and cooking time will not be used to calculate production costs since your staff will not be actively preparing the recipe.
If you fill in the salaries and production cost, you will see that the production cost is taken into account in the financial tab.
