This article explains the rules your password must meet and how password security is handled. Use this article if your password is rejected or if you want to understand the password rules before creating or updating your password.
1. Password requirements
When creating or changing your password, all the following rules apply:
-
Your password must contain at least 8 characters.
-
Your password cannot consist only of numbers.
-
Your password cannot be a common or simple password.
-
The system checks against a list of around 2,000 commonly used passwords.
-
-
Your password must be sufficiently different from your personal details, such as your first name, last name, or email address.
-
Your password cannot consist of the same character repeated, for example
!!!!!!!!.

Note
Password validation happens automatically when you save your password.
2. Password change policy
There is no mandatory password expiration.
-
You are not required to change your password after a set period.
-
You can change your password at any time if you think it may no longer be secure.
For security reasons, we discourage the use of shared accounts. If you do use shared accounts, changing passwords regularly is strongly recommended.
3. Common issues
If your password is rejected, it is usually because:
-
It is too short
-
It is too simple or commonly used
-
It is too similar to your name or email
-
It uses the same character repeatedly
