1. General Information

  • Scope: The integration between My Emissions and Apicbase enables you to enrich your ingredient data in Apicbase with CO₂ equivalent emissions calculated by My Emissions.
    • Supported: CO₂ equivalent emissions

    • Not included: Land use, water consumption, protein source

The integration is set up by the customer via the Third-Party Applications section in Apicbase. Once connected, My Emissions processes your ingredient list and returns CO₂ values that appear directly on your ingredients in Apicbase. A daily sync ensures data remains up to date.

2. Product Assortment

  • Assortment Type: The integration works on your customer-specific ingredients stored in your Apicbase library. My Emissions retrieves these items and matches them to emissions factors in their database. CO₂ equivalent values are then written back to your ingredients in Apicbase.
  • Assortment Management: You manage your ingredient records in Apicbase as usual. My Emissions uses ingredient names and formats to find the most representative emissions factors. Clear and consistent ingredient naming helps ensure accuracy.
    • Free-text items like “1 carrot (piece)” may require estimation in My Emissions, which can increase uncertainty.

  • Product Information:
Information Type Availability / Details
CO₂ emissions equivalent Yes
Land use No
Water consumption No
Protein source No
Sync frequency Daily (4:00 AM UK time)
Data source Customer’s Apicbase ingredient list
Updates to existing ingredients Yes (during sync)
New ingredients (added since last sync) Yes (during sync)
Ingredient naming Clear naming improves match accuracy

3. Data Sync and Management

The My Emissions integration ensures your ingredient CO₂ data is continuously updated through automated synchronisation. Sync Frequency: Daily, at 4:00 AM (UK time)

Process Overview:

  1. My Emissions retrieves ingredient data from your Apicbase library.

  2. Each ingredient is matched with the most representative emissions factor in My Emissions’ database.

  3. The CO₂ equivalent values are sent back to Apicbase and displayed in your ingredient profiles. The sync processes both new ingredients and updates to existing ingredients

  4. The process repeats daily to ensure all values remain accurate and up to date.

Data Quality & Management Best Practices:

  • Ensure all ingredient entries in Apicbase include correct weight/volume and unit of measure.

  • Periodically check CO₂ values in Apicbase and contact My Emissions if mismatches occur.

  • My Emissions’ matching system is reliable, but final responsibility for verifying reported data rests with the client, especially when publishing sustainability reports.

4. Onboarding

To activate and get onboarded with this integration, please follow the steps below.

  1. Account with My Emissions

    • New customers: contact My Emissions Customer Support to create an account.

    • Existing customers: inform your My Emissions Account Manager and your Apicbase CSM that you wish to activate the Apicbase integration.

  2. Enable the Integration in Apicbase

    • Ask your Apicbase Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable the My Emissions integration for your library.

  3. Generate and Share Tokens

  4. Processing & First Sync

    • After receiving your token, My Emissions will import your ingredient list and begin processing CO₂ equivalent values.

    • During onboarding, My Emissions provides:

      • An overview of the ingredient list imported and data sync

      • Access to your ingredient list and insights on the My Emissions platform (e.g. how ingredients were modeled and matched)

    • For the initial run, My Emissions reviews and checks the list and matched CO₂ values.

  5. Ongoing Management

    • Maintain clear ingredient names and correct package formats (weight/volume + unit).

    • Review results periodically and contact My Emissions if mismatches are suspected.

5. Contact Information

For questions about your CO₂ values, please contact your My Emissions Account Manager or Customer Support at: https://help.myemissions.co/en. For Integration enablement, please contact Apicbase Supportsupport@apicbase.com
